Darron Gibson’s emphatic response to Twitter criticism for supporting England tonight

He sure told them.

It’s hardly breaking news or anything like that but there are quite a few football fans in this country that would like nothing more than to see England lose tonight. Everton and Ireland midfielder Darron Gibson is not one of those football fans and his decision to publicly declare his support for England attracted a raft of criticism on Twitter this evening.

  Gibson shouldn’t really have had to explain his reasons for cheering on Roy Hodgson’s men, but he responded to those who had a go at him in emphatic fashion, explaining the reasons behind his support for England and having a little dig while he was it.
