A fire broke out last week that damaged signalling equipment, with services to be disrupted for the rest of the week.

Irish Rail have revealed that there will be severely disrupted Dart services between Greystones and Dalkey for the rest of the week, due to a fire that broke out at a signalling relay room in Bray.

There will be no services whatsoever between Greystones and Bray – with limited bus transfers in place – while services between Bray and Dalkey will operate at morning and evening peak times, at 30 minute intervals, with journeys expected to take up to half an hour.

At off-peak times, an hourly service will operate. Following the evening rush, all services will be cancelled between Dalkey and Bray to allow repair works to take place.

Bus transfers will be in place between Greystones and Bray-Dún Laoghaire-Connolly station for passengers travelling on the Rosslare Europort to Connolly station route.

Next weekend’s schedule may also be affected, depending on the progression of repair works. Dublin Bus will accept rail tickets at all times for journeys to and from areas south of Dalkey.

“Iarnród Éireann apologises for the inconvenience caused by the damage and necessary repair works,” a statement read.
