Dawson's Creek actor James Van Der Beek has died aged 48 after a battle with bowel cancer.
"Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning," a statement on his social media read.
"He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace.
"There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity and the sacredness of time. Those days will come.
"For now we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend."
The actor revealed his cancer diagnosis in November 2024 after being diagnosed with the disease in the second half of 2023.
The father of six starred in the cult classic series Dawson's Creek, as well as films Varsity Blues, Texas Rangers and The Rules of Attraction.
