The President blamed his absence on a scheduling conflict.

Donald Trump hasn’t had the best of days, with regards to climate change.

Firstly, reports came out that suggested the US President had suggested firing nuclear bombs at hurricanes to stop them hitting America, on a number of occasions.

Trump has since said that he did not make this suggestion, once again blaming Fake News on the reports.

More recently, news has emerged that Trump skipped the G7 climate meeting on Monday.

“The President had scheduled meetings and bilaterals with Germany and India, so a senior member of the Administration attended in his stead,” press secretary Stephanie Grisham said.

CNN have since done a bit of research, and found that both German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi were in the climate change meeting, making the US president’s reason seem like a bit of a strange one.

An official said the staff member who replaced Trump worked for the National Security Council.

G-7 countries pledged $20 million to help fight fires in the Amazon rainforest, at a time when Brazil’s Amazon rainforest is burning at a record rate, sparking worldwide concern.

Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio’s charity has pledged to donate $5 million to help save the Amazon.
