Conservationists have staunchly objected to any plans to build a wall though because that the Carrowmore dunes are a Special Area of Conservation and a Natura 2000 site, but this hasn't deterred Trump International Golf Links and Hotel from threatening Clare County Council.
Trump's representatives have said that failure to build this wall will bring "the viability of the entire resort and its potential closure into question" and that it would cause "permanent and profound negative economic impact".
They've estimated that the resort has the potential to make €38 million between 2017 and 2024 but this figure will be jeopardised if Clare County Council doesn't rule in Trump's favour.
