An investigation has been launched after a male driver in his 60s was robbed at knifepoint by a passenger in Cork.

Gardaí at Watercourse Road are investigating the theft that occurred on Wednesday (6 October) at Spring Lane in Blackpool.

At around 10am, the man in his 60s was threatened with a knife by a male passenger who was in his vehicle at the time.

The passenger demanded money from the driver and later left the vehicle with a sum of cash.

A Garda spokesperson told JOE no injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.

Investigations into the theft are ongoing.
