Gardaí appealing for witnesses to theft of Dublin Marathon merchandise

The marathon is set to take place this Sunday.

Gardaí in Raheny are appealing for any information and any witnesses following a theft of Dublin Marathon merchandise.

It is that the merchandise was stolen between the hours of 4.30pm on Saturday 19 and 6.30pm on Monday 21 October from a van parked outside a house at Sutton Park in Dublin 13.

A large quantity of hats and jackets, which were intended for Dublin Marathon stewards and volunteers, was taken during the incident.

The 40th running of the KBC Marathon is set to kick off at 8.45am on Sunday 27 October, with an estimated 22,500 participants involved in the run.

An Garda Síochána has advised that this official Dublin Marathon merchandise is not intended to go on general sale to the public and was intended only for stewards/volunteers.

Anyone offered the merchandise for sale, or who can assist Gardaí in locating the property is asked to contact their local Garda station.

Additionally, anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious between the hours of 4.30pm on Saturday 19 and 6.30pm on Monday 21 October have been asked to contact Raheny Garda Station on 01 6664300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
