We hope everyone’s in the mood for a walk…

DART drivers have followed in the footsteps of their Luas counterparts and announced plans to strike today after a unanimous vote, according to SIPTU.

Luas drivers have already announced plans to take industrial action on March 8, St. Patrick’s Day and over Easter.

While Luas drivers are seeking pay increases, the issue affecting DART drivers is the introduction of a 10-minute DART service. According to the Irish Examiner, the union believes that the implementation of a policy should be part of productivity discussions between Irish Rail and the workers.

These rosters are set to be introduced in April. No date has been set for a strike.
