Careful now Brian.
Supporters of same-sex marriage will have taken heart from a public endorsement by none other than Brian O’Driscoll today after the former Irish rugby captain emphatically declared his intention to vote in favour of it in the upcoming marriage referendum.
O’Driscoll isn’t the first high-profile sports figure to publicly declare his support for same-sex marriage, of course.
As somebody who has already done so, Donegal footballer Eamon McGee was on hand to sound BOD a light-hearted warning about the pitfalls that potentially lie ahead.
I'm certainly voting yes! #straightupforequality

Somehow, we don’t think there’ll be many priests criticising O’Driscoll’s stance from the pulpit, as was the case in Donegal last weekend when a number of parishioners in Annagry walked out after the priest blasted McGee’s views during a sermon.
At least BOD can’t say he wasn’t warned.
