Disaster.

It seems like half the country is making their way to Stradbally this weekend.

And we imagine that if you’re currently sat in horrible traffic, you probably feel the exact same.

A camper van has broken down between Naas South and Naas North, leaving traffic backed up to Kill.

A photograph of the tailback appeared on the Twitter account of @NaasBall, which you can see here.

AA Roadwatch offered an update on the situation, saying: “The M7 is very busy southbound from J7 Kill to J9 Naas North. Traffic is also busy but moving both ways passing J10 Naas South due to works. Keep in mind that the N7/M7 is likely to be busier than usual today with festival-goers heading to Stradbally in Laois.”

Luckily the festival doesn’t start properly for another few hours, but nobody wants to be sitting in traffic when they’re buzzing to get down.

Traffic is just as hectic closer to the festival itself, with AA Roadwatch saying: “Traffic is very slow both ways on the N80 through Stradbally as festival-goers make their way to Electric Picnic.

“Slow coming off the M7 at J16 Portlaoise East and towards the N80. There are delays heading north into Abbeyleix on the N77.”
