Emergency services rush to high-rise building on fire in Tallaght

People are urged to keep clear of the area.

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a fire at a high-rise building in Tallaght in Dublin.

According to Dublin Fire Brigade, eight of its units are currently attending the blaze which broke out at a business premises in Belgard Square.

Three ambulances are also on the scene, along with Gardaí.

In a statement, Gardaí told JOE they were alerted to the incident at around 4.20pm.

A spokesperson said a cordon has been put in place and traffic diversions are in operation.

Luas services have also been interrupted, with no services currently operating between Tallaght and Belgard.

Dublin Fire Brigade has urged people to “keep clear of the area to allow emergency vehicles access”.
