Five arrested in connection with assault outside fast food outlet in Mayo

Five people have been arrested following incidents of public order and assault which occurred outside a fast food outlet in Mayo in February.

The incident took place on the Dalton Street area of Claremorris between 2.40am and 3am in the early hours of Sunday, 6 February.

On Tuesday morning (15 March), Claremorris Community Engagement Gardaí, supported by detectives from the Mayo Crime and Western Region Armed Support Unit, conducted searches under warrant at a number of addresses in Claremorris and Ballinrobe.

Four adult men – aged in their 20s – and one juvenile male teenager were subsequently arrested.

All have been detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a number of Garda Stations in the Mayo region.

Claremorris Gardaí continue their appeal for any witnesses to the incident in the Dalton Street area in the early hours of Sunday, 6 February.
