Man in his 80s dies after being hit by van in Dublin

The incident occurred last month.

A pedestrian aged in his 80s has died following a fatal road traffic collision that took place in Dublin last month.

The incident occurred at approximately 6.50am on Wednesday, 19 January on the North Circular Road between Phibsborough Road and Berkeley Road in Dublin 7.

The male pedestrian was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where he later passed away on Friday, 11 February.

The driver of the van involved in the incident was uninjured.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage – including dash-cam – and who were travelling along the North Circular Road between Phibsborough Road and Berkeley Road between 6.40am and 7.15am on Wednesday, 19 January are asked to make this footage available.
