Female child discovered with serious injuries in Clare
An investigation has been launched.
Gardaí have launched a formal investigation following the discovery of a female child with "serious injuries" in Clare.

The child was found at a premises in Clarecastle on Tuesday morning, 27 September. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene shortly after 8am.
Gardaí have said they are exploring all possible circumstances surrounding the discovery.
The child has been taken from the scene and brought to Limerick University Hospital for treatment.
Investigations are ongoing.

According to the Irish Independent, the injuries are believed to have arisen as a result of a violent incident.
As of this time, it is understood that no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
