25-year-old TD Jack Chambers came in for a good bit of criticism over the course of the General Election weekend back in February.
Speaking to the Marian Finucane show this morning, the Fianna Fáil TD for Dublin West didn’t do himself any favours when he revealed the reason that he hasn’t paid the water charges.
It’s not that he’s taking a Paul Murphy-esque ideological stand against Irish Water – it’s just that he still lives at home with his mum, and she’s the one coughing up the money for bills.

We’d hope that he’s throwing a few bob her way now that he’s earning big bucks as a TD.
Some commentators on Twitter were not very sympathetic with Chambers’ circumstances.
