Gardaí investigating after firearm discharged in Tipperary

The incident took place in the early hours of Friday morning.

An investigation has been opened following the alleged discharge of a firearm in Tipperary.

According to An Garda Síochána, the incident took place in Oldbridge, Clonmel at approximately half past midnight on Friday morning, 19 November.

Gardaí received a report that a firearm had been discharged in the Brook Crescent area.

Nobody was injured during the incident, though damage was caused to a residential property.

A BMW 3 series saloon car was located burnt out in the Seskin area of Kilsheelan a short time later.

Both scenes have been preserved so that a technical examination may be carried out.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have information relevant to the investigation to come forward, particularly anyone who was in the Brook Crescent area of Clonmel or the Seskin area of Kilsheelan between 9pm on Thursday and 1am on Friday.

They are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the BMW vehicle and anyone who may have camera footage related to the incident.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
