Investigations are ongoing.

Two people have been arrested following a search operation in Dublin on Tuesday (26 July). Gardaí attached to the South Central Divisional Drug unit observed "unusual activity" while on patrol on Townsend Street. A man and a woman, both aged in their 30s, were then searched, where a suspected firearm was seized along with a quantity of drugs. Both were arrested and brought to Kevin Street Garda Station. The man was detained under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, 1939 and remains in custody on Wednesday morning (27 July). The woman was arrested under Section 15, Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977 and has since been charged. She is due to appear before court on Friday (29 July). Investigations are ongoing.
