Three men arrested as Gardaí recover two loaded firearms in Dublin

A number of searches were carried out on Thursday evening.

Three men have been arrested after Gardaí recovered two loaded firearms in relation to ongoing investigations targeting criminal activity in west Dublin.

Shortly after 6pm on Thursday evening (13 June), a number of searches were carried out at addresses in the Shancastle Park area by local Garda units from Ronanstown and Lucan.

They were supported by the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and Armed Support Unit (ASU).

During these searches, two loaded firearms wrapped in cling film were discovered at the back of one of the houses.

Both firearms were made safe and were subsequently removed to the Garda Technical Bureau for ballistic examination.

Three men, aged in their 20s, were arrested.

They are currently being detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Garda Stations in west Dublin.

The investigation is ongoing.
