The latest figures have been shared by the Department of Health.

Five further Covid-19 deaths have been confirmed, as well as 456 new cases.

There has now been a total of 1,984 Covid-related deaths in Ireland, as well as 68,356 confirmed cases.

There has now been 52 Covid-related deaths in November.

Of today’s cases, 105 are in Dublin, 85 are in Limerick, 43 are in Cork, 38 are in Meath, 25 are in Clare, and the remaining cases are spread across 21 other counties.

Speaking on Monday, Ronan Glynn said that we have a “really short” time to turn this around, with Ireland now only 15 days from the date where Level 5 is due to end.

Glynn says that people’s behaviour over the weekend is “frustrating to see”, especially from the perspective of older people who have been isolating for months.

He said that despite the good news regarding potential vaccines, it is “too early for people to drop their guard”.

13% of cases from the past two weeks were people over the age of 65.

As of Monday afternoon, there are 274 people in hospitals with Covid, while the number of people in ICUs across the country is 33, an increase of two since yesterday.

People were reminded to ensure that their children get the flu vaccine as soon as possible, which is administered by a nasal spray.

Earlier on Monday, Northern Ireland’s Department of Health reported that 331 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

Sadly, a further 14 deaths have also been reported up north.
