Flash floods in Cork City after the River Lee overflows in areas

Heavy showers combined with high tide made for trouble in Cork.

Anglesea Street, Douglas Street, Turner’s Cross, Penrose Quay and the Curragh Road were all affected, with motorists asked to avoid Penrose Quay for the rest of the day if possible.
