Here’s how cheap flights to Boston from Cork could be in March 2017

It sounds too good to be true.

Boston is a city of Irish immigrants. In many ways, Ireland is the spiritual home for many of those living in the capital city of Massachusetts. With that in mind we think it’s only fair that they should be allowed to return “home” as cheaply as possible… And we should be able to visit them as cheaply as possible too.

Norwegian Air are trying to make this dream a reality through Cork Airport, “doing for the long-haul flight what Ryanair has done for short-haul flight” as Taoiseach Enda Kenny so eloquently put it last week.

Trade unions in both America and in Ireland have tried to stand in the way of the route from Cork to Boston being approved, but once you hear just how cheaply you’ll be able to visit America then you’ll really hope the trade unions do not succeed.

Cork Airport tweeted today that Norwegian Air are planning transatlantic flights from as little as $69 starting in March 2017. In case you don’t have your currency convertor handy, that’s just €61.73.

Sure it’ll be cheaper to travel from Cork to Boston than it is to travel from Cork to Dublin.
