Fontaines D.C. and Jordan Adetunji score Grammy nominations

They will be going up against the likes of Beyoncé, Green Day and The Rolling Stones.

Dublin rockers Fontaines D.C. and Belfast rapper and singer Jordan Adetunji have scored nominations for the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Fontaines D.C. are up for two awards: Best Rock Album for their LP ‘Romance’ and Best Alternative Music Performance for their single ‘Starburster’.

In the former category, the group faces stiff competition as they are going up against The Black Crowes, Green Day, Idles, Jack White, Pearl Jam and The Rolling Stones.

Adetunji’s viral breakout hit ‘Kehlani’ earned a nod in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category, where he will be competing against Beyoncé for her song ‘Spaghettii’.

Best rock album

  • The Black Crowes – Happiness Bastards
  • Fontaines DC – Romance
  • Green Day – Saviors
  • Idles – Tangk
  • Pearl Jam – Dark Matter
  • The Rolling Stones – Hackney Diamonds

Best melodic rap performance

  • Jordan Adetunji featuring Kehlani – Kehlani
  • Beyoncé featuring Linda Martell and Shaboozey – Spaghettii
  • Future and Metro Boomin featuring the Weeknd – We Still Don’t Trust You
  • Latto – Big Mama
  • Rapsody featuring Erykah Badu – 3:AM

As for the rest of the categories, Beyoncé racked up the most nominations with 11.

Behind her with seven apiece are Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone.

Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift all scored six.

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 2, 2025.
