Full details as four walk-in vaccination centres to open again from today

Clara Kelly

They will be running until Sunday in certain locations as the portal opened for those aged 12 to 15 on Wednesday.

Four walk-in vaccination centres are scheduled to open across the country this weekend, offering mRNA Covid-19 vaccines, such as Pfizer and Moderna, without appointments.

Anyone aged over 12 can attend the walk-in centres for a first dose, a text message will then be sent with an appointment for dose two.

It comes as the portal opened on Wednesday for those aged 12 to 15. Anyone in the 12-15 age cohort will need parental permission to receive the jab and parents have been encouraged to accompany them to the clinic.

The clinics are only open on specific days and times and people won’t be vaccinated outside of these hours if they show up.

You also don’t have to register online beforehand, however, the HSE has said that doing so may speed up your time in the centre – which is estimated to take roughly 30 minutes.

If you have already registered online and are waiting on an appointment for your first dose, you can also choose to go to a walk-in clinic instead.

People are encouraged to attend the centre alone and can find more information on what you need here.
