Well, a shock for those expecting wild scenes...
Oh to be a student again, huh? Monday marks the start of RAG Week in Galway, well, the start of an unofficial RAG Week.
There has not been an Student's Union backed RAG Week in Galway since 2011 after they pulled support following a series of public order incidents.
Ever since, there has been independent events held by students and publicans in the city for students including the now famous, Donegal Tuesday and the newly formed Mayo Monday.
We reckon Louth Thursday is just a couple of years away...
Donegal Tuesday is known for students lining the streets of Galway queuing to get into The Hole in the Wall pub from early in the morning.

Mayo Monday, is intended to instigate a friendly bit of rivalry. We were told that the organisers of Mayo Monday will be hoping to "leave a lasting legacy" while simultaneously making the event even "bigger than Donegal Tuesday... if possible!"
But this year, Gardaí have warned they will be clamping down on drunken and anti-social behaviour, drafting in members of the force from outside the city to cope with the increased numbers of students socialising.
They have promised a no-nonsense approach to those acting out.

The Connacht Tribune, a Garda spokesperson said: “We will be focusing on antisocial behaviour as in previous years and we will be taking a no-nonsense approach.
“We’re not saying to people don’t enjoy themselves but we’d urge students to just be mindful of people around them. Everyone has responsibility for themselves.”
