Louis Walsh had a chance meeting with a Garda today

You never know what you might find on the mean streets of Dublin 2…

Imagine the surprise of a Garda on patrol in Dublin city when he pulls over none other than Louis Walsh, of X-Factor fame, on Pearse Street.

The Garda on patrol was pulling over cars on Pearse Street when the Mayo man caught his eye. On closer inspection, he realised that he was in the presence of musical fame.

Upon realisation that all was in order with Walsh’s vehicle, the 65-year-old was happy enough to pose with the man-on-duty for a picture set for the An Garda Síochána Twitter account.

What a gent.

“Garda Got Talent. Garda Walsh from Pearse Street stopped a Mr Walsh today, all in order with this driver, its a yes from us,” the tweet said.

The Kiltimagh-native is back in the country after saying goodbye to The X Factor after more than a decade. The Mayo man first appeared on the show back in 2004 and confirmed in a statement that he was “ready to leave.”

Walsh said: “I’ve had a fantastic 13 years on The X Factor but the show needs a change and I’m ready to leave.

Thames Managing Director, Amelia Brown, added: “Louis has been a huge part of The X Factor’s success since it launched and remains a good friend of the show.

“His contribution cannot be overstated. We would like to thank him for all he has given to the show over the years and look forward to continuing to work with him in the future.”
