45,000 people are expected to witness Roy Keane and Martin O'Neill's respective sides.
Gardaí have issued instructions for those who plan to attend The Liam Miller Tribute match in Pairc Ui Chaoimh, County Cork on Tuesday 25 September.
Gates are due to open at 12:45 with the event due to finish at approximately 5pm.
"We are delighted to be one of the many agencies involved in this tribute match for Liam Miller," Inspector Finbarr O Sullivan said, speaking at Anglesea Street Garda Station on Thursday.
"I would appeal to anyone going to match to use the Bus Eireann shuttle buses from Lapps Quay or walk to Pairc Ui Chaoimh as there is no parking around the stadium and there will be a tow away operation in place.
"The match is due to finish up at 5pm so we know there is going to be traffic delays in Cork City so we would ask that motorists and pedestrians be patient and follow the direction of Gardaí and stewards. We have a full traffic management in place for the event which can be viewed on the Garda website.
"As always, when you are coming to and from the stadium I would ask that patrons respect the local residents and businesses. This is an event for all the family and consuming alcohol out in public will not be tolerated. Most of all, enjoy the match and stay safe".
Virgin Media Sport will televise the event which will see Manchester United Legends XI take on a Glasgow Celtic/Republic of Ireland team.
The game was originally subject to much debate when it appeared that permission wouldn't be granted for the game to be played in
Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
Proceeds from the broadcast, including all advertising and sponsorship revenues, will go to the Liam Miller Fund, which will be used to help Liam's wife Clare and their three children as well as Marymount Hospice and other charities.
