Gardaí investigate after fatal road traffic collision on Monday morning

The crash took place in Cork at around 10.45am.

Gardai are investigating after a road traffic collision in Cork on Monday left one man dead and another two people injured.

A collision between two cars and a truck resulted in the death of a man in his 80s, the sole occupant of one of the cars.

A man and a woman – the occupants of the other car – were trasferred to Cork University Hospital, while the driver of the truck was not hurt in the collision.

The crash occurred on the N25 Midleton to Castlemartyr Road (at Two Mile Inn).

The man was pronounced death at the scene and diversions are in place to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Investigation.
