Gardaí investigating the discovery of a woman’s body in Kerry

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a woman’s body in Kerry on Tuesday morning.

In a statement issued to JOE, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: “Gardaí are investigating the sudden death of a woman in her 80s at a house approximately 1km outside Ballyduff. Her body was discovered this morning, 29 October 2019 at approximately 11.30am.”

The statement also specified that the house where the woman was found was on the “Tralee side” of Ballyduff, which has a population of 517 people. No details were provided as to the nature of the woman’s death.

The scene of the discovery remains preserved. A post-mortem is now scheduled to take place, and Gardaí and have confirmed that the results of the post-mortem exam will determine the course of their investigation.
