Gardaí have issued an updated appeal for information relating to Jastine Valdez.

It is believed that Valdez was the victim of an abduction in Enniskerry on Saturday evening. Gardaí shot dead a suspect in the case earlier on Monday morning. The man, who was in his 40s, was named as Mark Hennessy.

A major search is now underway in the area of Rathmichael, and Gardaí are looking for very specific information. In their latest appeal, they have written:

“Gardaí are looking to speak to any persons who may have observed suspicious activity in the area of Puckscastle Lane and Kiltiernan Lead Mines, Rathmichael, from 6pm last Saturday 19th May 2018 to 8pm Sunday 20th May 2018.”

“Anyone with information, however insignificant should contact Bray Garda Station on 01 6665300, Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.”

It is believed that Valdez, described as approximately 5ft in height, of slight build with long black hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a dark coloured jacket, white t-shirt, grey leggings and runners was bundled, into a dark-coloured Nissan Qashqai on the R760.

RTÉ has reported on Monday that Valdez’ purse was found in Rathmichael, with her ID inside it.
