Homenews

You can’t say you weren’t warned.

An Garda Síochána have issued a reminder that it is illegal to drink alcohol in a public place in Dublin City as part of their guidelines on traffic, travel and safety information ahead of the St. Patrick’s Day parade. https://twitter.com/GardaTraffic/status/708232048306163712 As our national holiday, Paddy’s Day is one of the busiest days of the year in the capital and around the country and the Gardai have issued a number of guidelines in order to ensure that it’s as enjoyable as possible for everyone. As far as traffic is concerned, the use of public transport where possible has been encouraged and people living outside of the M50 have been urged to leave their car outside the M50 in order to avoid unnecessary traffic problems. Gardai have also urged people attending the parade to get into the city early, to mind their belongings and to keep children under close supervision. You can check out the guidelines in full here, the route of the Dublin St. Patrick’s Day parade here and information on transport on the day here. For more information on the parade itself, check out the St. Patrick's Festival website. Stay safe and have a good one, folks.
