Gardaí are seeking witnesses to a hit-and-run.

An Garda Síochána has issued an appeal for witnesses who may have seen a collision between a cyclist and a car in west Dublin earlier this week. The incident occurred at approximately 9.50am on Thursday, 18 July, at the junction for Mulhuddart Village on Blanchardstown Road South. A 50-year-old male on a pedal cycle was seriously injured when there was a collision with a saloon-vehicle described as being blue in colour. The vehicle continued driving in the direction of Mulhuddart Village following the collision. The man was then brought to James Connolly Memorial Hospital, where his injuries are thought to be serious but not life-threatening. The man was aided at the scene by other motorists who stopped, and an ambulance was called. Gardaí are now appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward, as well as anyone who stopped to provide assistance. They are also appealing to anyone who may have been in the area between 9.50am and 10.10am, particularly motorists with dash cam footage, to come forward.
