Two men have been arrested on suspicion of money laundering from a life assurance company

The two men were in their mid-20s.

Gardaí from the Money Laundering Investigation Unit at the National Economic Crime Bureau have arrested two men in their mid-20s for alleged involvement in money laundering of funds from a life assurance company.

Members of the MLIU carried out a series of searches on the morning of Tuesday, 16 January, during which they arrested the men.

The arrests took place in Dublin and Meath and it is expected that they will appear before Tallaght and Trim District Courts in relation to the investigation.
