Gardai release a guide of alternative travel plans to help with the upcoming rail strike

If you plan on travelling over the weekend then this may be helpful…

If you haven’t heard already, the Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail strike will begin this Sunday-Monday and will obviously be problematic for anyone looking to travel across the country.

The Gardai have released the following bits of information that should help commuters over the weekend.

  • All Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann services will be operating as normal.
  • All Luas services will be operating as normal.
  • They have encouraged the use of taxi’s if needs be.
  • All 20 licensed bus operators will continue to offer an alternative to travelling by rail.
  • The following commercial bus operators have confirmed that they will provide extra capacity on regularly scheduled services on the days of industrial action.

The following commercial bus operators will also be available for anyone that may have their rail travel plans disrupted.

Matthews Coach Hire Ltd, Last Passive (Aircoach), EvoBus (GoBus), Citibus Ltd (Dublin Coach), Farrell Travel (BusLink), Glen Whelan, KBR Buses, Bernard Kavanagh, Michael Kilbride, Slieve Bloom Coach Tours Ltd, PJ Martley, Eugene Foster (Silver Dawn Travel), Irish Citylink, Flagline Coaches, Michael Healy, Bus Feda, Michael Moran, Ardcavan Bus and Éireann Expressway.
