Gardaí investigating the murder of 24-year-old Jastine Valdez continue to appeal to the public for information. Valdez was murdered by Mark Hennessey, who was later shot and killed by Gardaí.

A statement on Monday evening from An Garda Síochána has appealed for information regarding the whereabouts of Valdez’s bag. The statement confirms that the bag contained several distinctive items:

1.    A “Bearska” jacket

2.    Nike runners

3.    A Leap card

4.    An iPad mini

5.    Make-up

6.    Purple reading glasses with a pink tint.

7.    Lip balm.

The bag itself is described as a “blue shoulder bag which was purchased in the Next retail shop.”

Gardaí are also looking to speak to anyone who was on the same bus as Jastine on May 19. The statement contains a note appealing to “any passengers who travelled with Jastine on the 185c bus on the evening of the 19th May 2018.”

Jastine was seen being bundled into a Nissan Qashqai on the evening of May 19 and her body was found two days later in the Rathmichael area of South Dublin. Earlier that morning, Gardaí had tracked down Hennessey and shot him while he was in his car. Hennessey then died of his injuries.
