Gardaí are at the scene of a shooting in Dublin

One man has been shot.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána has confirmed that Gardaí are currently at the scene of a shooting at Shancastle Park, Clondalkin in Dublin 22.

A man in his 20s was treated at the scene before being taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown with injuries that are described as “serious but non-life-threatening.”

In a statement issued this evening, Gardaí said: “At approximately 8.45pm on Tuesday December 17, 2019, a man was approached by a lone gunman and shot a number of times. It’s understood the gunman fled from the scene on foot.”

The scene is currently preserved for examination by local scenes of crime officers.No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
