Gardaí are looking for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a car that occurred over a week ago in Market Square, Castlebar, Mayo.
A woman in her late 60s was hospitalised at Mayo University Hospital with serious after she was struck by a car in the area, shortly after midday on Thursday (30 April). Here injuries were later deemed to be not life-threatening. The car failed to remain at the scene.
A spokesperson for the Gardaí said that a car was later located a short distance away and was technically examined in connection with this collision.
Gardaí are now appealing for any witnesses to the above incident to come forward, and for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time to make this footage available to Gardaí.
