They are seeking one witness in particular.

Gardaí in Kerry have put a call out for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision that occurred in the Ballyheigue area on Tuesday (14 April).

At around 2pm on Tuesday, two motorcycles collided with one another on the R551 road in Buncurrig, Ballyheigue (shortly before the turn for Ballyheigue Village). A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed that one of the motorcycle drivers was in his late teens and the other was in his 20s.

Emergency services attended the scene and one of the drivers was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick with serious injuries. The other driver was brought to University Hospital Kerry with injuries that are described as “non-serious”.

Gardaí are now appealing to any road users who were travelling in the Buncurrig/Ballyheigue area between the hours of 1.30pm and 2.30pm on Tuesday who may have dash-cam footage to come forward. Gardaí are particularly appealing to the driver of a red tractor who may have witnessed the collision.

Anyone with any information in relation to this incident should contact Ballyheigue Garda Station on 066 713 3122, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
