A serious haul.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána has confirmed that cocaine with a street value of €1.4 million was seized in Drogheda today.
In a statement issued on Monday evening (11 November), Gardaí confirmed: "As part of an intelligence led operation under Operation Stratus, at approximately 12.35pm today local Gardai from Drogheda Garda Station intercepted a vehicle at the Donore Road Industrial Estate, Drogheda, Louth."
Inside the vehicle Gardaí found approximately 20kg of cocaine, subject to analysis, worth around €1.4million in street value.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Drogheda Garda Station under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Gardaí have said that the operation is ongoing.
