Several other Irish political parties have TikTok accounts, as do some Government ministers including Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and Minister for Higher Education Simon Harris.

Earlier in the month, a video featuring one of President Michael D. Higgins' dogs went viral on TikTok.

It saw the pup desperate to get the President's attention as he was giving a TV interview.
