Do strawberry blonds count?

Cork is hosting this year’s Irish Redhead Convention, an annual celebration of the world’s ever-thinning ginger population.

The weekend boasts three days of events, including screenings of movies featuring redhead actors, the crowning of Redhead King and Queen and several performances by the hilariously-named trad band ‘Ginger Nutz’.

There’s something for everyone to enjoy, with early-morning yoga on offer, as well as farmer’s markets and a barbecue on the Sunday Evening. The full programme of events can be accessed here.

Tickets can be purchased here with prices ranging for €10 for kids all the way to €50 for VIP access. The event is in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.

The festivities will begin at 4pm today and run until the end of Sunday. Are you RED-y?
