Seven-year-old girl dies after an incident involving a car in Louth

Gardaí have called the incident a “tragic accident”.

A seven-year-old girl has died in Drogheda, County Louth following an accident that occurred on Sunday afternoon (7 July).

The incident took place in the driveway of a house in Boyle O’Reilly Terrace at approximately 2.30pm.

The girl was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Initial Gardaí investigations indicate that the girl was fatally injured in what appears to be a “tragic accident” involving a car.

The local coroner has been notified and investigations are ongoing.
