Homenews

100 goats got loose in a US neighbourhood earlier today and ate "everything in sight."

The 'professional' goats arrived to the Idaho capital city of Boise at about 7.30am local time and proceeded to consume many flower beds, shrubs, and potted plants. The 100 or so animals were first spotted by KTVB reporter Joe Parris, who shared many photos of the loose goats to Twitter. Parris initially reported that the origin of the goats was unknown, but that the group was "going house to house eating everything in sight." https://twitter.com/KTVBJoe/status/1025377752583532544 The goats continued to roam the neighbourhood for a few minutes. They were seemingly unperturbed by the bemused residents. https://twitter.com/KTVBJoe/status/1025385069760790529 Eventually, it was discovered that the goats had come from 'professional goat' company We Rent Goats. According to the company's website, the goats are available to rent “... to remove noxious weeds from fields, acreage, pastures, open spaces, ditches, ravines, embankments … you name it and the goats can clear it.” And they did clear it, indeed. https://twitter.com/KTVBJoe/status/1025392685757038592 After some time, the goats were rounded up and returned to a We Rent Goats truck. They were then brought back to their home. Their story has since gone viral online, with a considerable 20,000 people sharing Parris's original goat shots on Twitter.
