Good News! Ireland is “the best country in the world” according to the Good Country Index

We might not be in the World Cup, but at least we're the best country in the world...

According to a new study from the guys at the Good Country Index, Ireland is the best county in the world because we’ve made the greatest contributions to “the common good of humanity”. The Good Country Index used a wide range of data from the U.N. and other international organisations in order to give each country a balance sheet to show at a glance whether “it’s a net creditor to mankind, a burden on the planet, or something in between”.

Ireland came 20th globally in Science and Technology; 7th in Culture; 33rd in International Peace & Security; 4th in World Order; 45th in Planet and Climate; 1st in Prosperity and Equality; and finally 9th in Health and Wellbeing.
