Something to look forward to this week.

Last week we had some lovely weather in Ireland but as we inched into the Bank Holiday weekend, the weather turned from mild and sunny to a rather more dismal grey, although it was still rather mild.

But it seems we have something to look forward to next weekend as temperatures look set to rise into the 20s, according to Met Éireann.

According to the forecaster, next weekend is set to be mainly dry with sunny spells and temperatures will be in the high teens and will touch 20 degrees at times.

As for the rest of the week, Tuesday morning will be mainly dry aside from a few showers in the east of the country. As we move into the afternoon, drizzly showers will develop in the west and move eastwards with temperatures hanging around 13 to 17 degrees.

Wednesday morning will be mostly cloudy with scattered light showers, but these will mostly die out by noon and the afternoon and evening will be brighter with some sunshine.

As we move into Thursday, it will be mostly cloudy with showers of rain but there will be some bright spells as well with temperatures of between 14 and 18 degrees.

While Friday will bring will brighten up with sunshine and a few showers after a slightly wet start to the day. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 or 19 degrees with light northwest breezes.
