Weather forecast

We’re currently writing this wearing only our mankini…

Hold on to your sexy sun hats everyone, the Sunburn Index is back.

A word of warning though, so is the Pollen Count. Thankfully, it’s still on the low end…

According to the official Met Éireann update, here’s what the weather will be like during the day on Saturday and later tonight…

Saturday (during the day)

Mainly dry today, with some good sunny spells, but skies will be partly cloudy at times, especially in the south and southwest, where a few scattered showers are likely later.

Maximum temperatures will range from 13 or 14 degrees on northern and eastern coasts to 17 or 18 Celsius in many other areas, but up to 20 Celsius locally in the Mid-West and Southwest.

Winds light to moderate, east to northeasterly or variable in direction.

Saturday Night

Mainly dry tonight, with clear spells in many areas, but cloudier in some parts, especially in Munster.

Cold where clear spells persist, especially in Ulster, north Connacht and much of Leinster, with lowest temperatures of 2 to 5 Celsius, resulting in some grass frost.

Milder elsewhere, with lows of 7 to 10 Celsius. A few mist or fog patches also in light winds.

The weather may not be quite as hot as it was earlier in the week, but it still looks like it’s going to be a beautiful, BBQ-eating, makini-chafing weekend.
