Yet another reason to get out there and march for a woman’s right to choose.
At 2pm on Saturday afternoon, thousands of people are expected to gather at Dublin’s Garden of Remembrance for the ‘March for Choice,’ a massive demonstration aimed at widening the discussion on the need for the Eighth Amendment to the Constitution to be repealed.
The sixth annual gathering is set to be the biggest yet, with Ireland set to go to the polls in 2018 to vote on whether or not we should Repeal the 8th.
Those marching today will do so with the aim of protecting the lives, health and choices of women in Ireland and we strongly urge anyone with a free afternoon to go and affect a change in Irish law that is badly needed.
Graham Linehan – who co-wrote Father Ted with Arthur Matthews – has promised to return home to take part in the demonstration, which begins at 2pm, and he has even added in a little incentive for anyone who might be ‘on the fence’ about attending.
