You can understand why flight operations won’t resume until Saturday.

On Thursday, Dublin Airport confirmed that all airlines had suspended their operations to and from the airport in light of the status red weather warning, which remains in effect until at least 6pm on Friday.

The travel plans of many were affected, including Fredro Starr, AKA ‘Bird’ from The Wire, but safety is paramount after all.

If anyone was in any doubt as to why airlines cancelled operations to and from the airport until tomorrow morning, then a video of a red alert for heavy snowfall posted on Twitter by Dublin Airport on Thursday night might give you an idea.

Safe to say it was wild out there last night…

Dublin Airport have apologised for the inconvenience that the adverse weather has caused to passengers and will have crews working on Friday to clear the runway, taxiways, aircraft parking stands and apron areas for the planned resumption of services on Saturday morning.

Passengers are asked to contact their respective airlines for the latest information in relation to the status of their flight; Dublin Airport will provide updates via their website and Twitter and Facebook pages.
