Five people have died after two helicopters crashed in the south of France on Friday morning.

Police in the town of Brignoles, located close to where the incident occurred, confirmed that five people – three in one helicopter and two in a second helicopter – had lost their lives as a result of the crashes, the cause of which is as yet unclear.

Both helicopters, according to the BBC, were army helicopters belonging to a flying school called Ealat, where pilots are trained for the military and other services.
