There’s a sizeable lack of understanding about the EU.
In a move that will have far-reaching effects not just for Ireland but for international relationships and the global economy, the people of the United Kingdom have opted to leave the EU by a margin of 52% to 48%.
The topic has dominated recent media coverage in the UK with every newspaper, TV station and prominent website providing analysis, insight and statistics regarding the potentially disastrous results that Britain’s exit from the EU could create.
The polling results indicated that there was a clear disparity between the voting patterns of old and young voters. This data was also released by Google and it reveals a very noticeable lack of political awareness among certain members of the British population.
