How did your college fare?
Trinity College once again ranked at the top of the University League Table in the Sunday Times university rankings, published in the Sunday Times today.
While Trinity (pictured below) retained top spot in the table, as was revealed yesterday, University College Cork was named as the Sunday Times University of the Year for the second year in succession, the first time in the 15-year history of the guide that a university has retained its title.
Dublin Institute of Technology, which was named as the Sunday Times Institute of Technology of the Year, was ranked seventh on the overall list, become the first Institute of Technology to overtake one of Ireland’s seven universities in the definitive rankings for third level performance.
Irish universities and Institutes of Technology were ranked using a number of different factors: Leaving Certificate Points, Research, Employment, Firsts/2:1s, Student/Staff Ratio, Progression Rate and Facilities Spend.
University College Dublin, Dublin City University and National University of Ireland Galway joined Trinity and UCC in the top five in the table you can see in full below.
The rankings were published in the Sunday Times Good University Guide, which came as a supplement with today’s paper and can also be viewed online here (subscription required).
